Treating Large Areas of Skin? Login/Join

Questions regarding use of CP products and exfoliating products.

Unfortunately, with age comes an increase in laxity over someone's entire body. For me, I am seeing it in my areas, stomach, legs, as well as neck and face.

So question: how does one practically address large areas of the body? Use a strong solution, but dilute and spread everywhere?

As for systemic absorbtion issues: will I run into toxiticy issues spreading THAT much CP or AHA/Retinoic acid over my body?

As a context, I remember as young teenage girl who died from bengay. She was rubbing large amounts of it over her entire body long term, and she basically poisoned herself.

I have heard of toxicity issues with CP, but felt generally those were unfounded at small amounts of use. With full body use? I am not sure...

Dear SkinAdvocate:

If you are working on rejuvenating large areas of the skin, typically a cream will work best and not be as messy or difficult to apply as a liquid or serum. We've included our suggestions below.

And you do not have to worry about systemic absorption when using topical copper-peptide products - See the following links:

The key to youthful skin with improved elasticity is the use of a good method of exfoliation (with hydroxy acid and/or manual abrasion) + SRCPs to help initiate skin rejuvenation. Keep in mind that consistency and patience are vital.

We would recommend carefully reviewing the following links on SRCPs:

http://reverseskinaging.com/neck.html
http://reverseskinaging.com/tighten.html
http://reverseskinaging.com/srcps.html

Here is a suggestion on how you can start using the products:

AM Use:
General Face & Neck Area AM - After cleansing the skin, apply a light amount of Skin Signals Cream (a strong copper peptide formula combined with peptides from enzymatically hydrolyzed elastin and collagen). The application should be so light that it just barely covers the area.

Body Area AM - After cleansing the skin*, apply a light amount Protect & Restore Body Lotion or TriReduction Cream. These are strong copper-peptide repair creams for skin tightening and improving the appearance of blemishes on the body. TriReduction is stronger than our P&R Body Lotion, but the body lotion is available in a larger size which may be better suited for coverage of larger areas.

PM Use:
Body Area PM - After cleansing the area, lightly apply Lactic Power 10 (a 10% hydroxy acid chemical that helps exfoliate dead skin cells). Wait about 20-30 minutes before you apply anything on top.

*Note while cleansing the skin: Investing in a microdermabrasion cloth or skin scrub to effectively increase the skin cell turnover rate has helped many of our clients to see even better results from the SRCPs work on the skin. Remember to use all methods of exfoliation in a gentle way so as not to cause excessive irritation.
