Length of dermaroller needles? Login/Join

posted
What length of dermaroller needles would you suggest for depressed scars? I don't want to get needles too long if they will cause more scarring. Also, I'm in Canada and am wondering where is the best place to purchase a quality dermaroller? Amazon, Ebay?

Dear jet302:

We are sure our "skin needling fans" will chime in with some of their recommendations for you to personally research.

But in general, our clients seem to be using various brands of skin rollers (Dermaroller, MTS Roller, Doctor Roller, Skin Medix Derma Stamp, or Clear Skin Care Rollers) with good success.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) Regarding Skin Rollers:
- What needle lengths are appropriate for skin renewal?

Clients many times ask us what needle length and brand might be a good option for skin rejuvenation - Dr. Pickart has said in the past: "No one really knows which needle length is most effective. Longer needles will do more, but may cause irritation." So it is always best to start with a shorter needle first.

.....................................................................................................................................................

We recommend to ONLY use your needling device exactly as directed according to the length of needle and manufacturer's instructions.

Contact the manufacturer or consult the instruction manual for specific advice. However, what we have always found to work best has been: Slow is better and Less is more.

General information can be found at: Use of Skin Needling and Skin Rollers While Using Copper-Peptides

Best Wishes,
-Skin Biology
