Dear Visitors:

Many have asked how they can use their Microdermabrasion Cloth PLUS Hydroxy Acid Exfoliator together - Well, understanding how exactly these two methods of skin exfoliation work will help you with the answer.

How do "Leave-On Hydroxy Acids" Work?

At higher percentages (typically over 20% for AHAs) hydroxy acids are considered a peel. However, lower percentages (i.e. 2-10%) work gently to effect a greater loss of dead skin cells over time.

Low percentage hydroxy acid lotions do not result in peeling or redness and can be used daily. They do not contain microbeads nor are they a scrub.

Apply lightly over the general face area; use cautiously around the eye area. Avoid upper eyelid.

The key to their success lies in what happens while the hydroxy acid lotion is left on the skin. It slowly dissolves the links between dead skin cells so that the next time the area is washed, your skin cell turnover rate is heightened.

Apply the hydroxy acid lotion very lightly and wait about 20-30 minutes before applying anything on top.

How do Microdermabrasion Cloths Exfoliate?

Whereas hydroxy acids are "chemical exfoliants", microdermabrasion cloths are classified as an effective method of "manual exfoliation" or abrasion.

Gently buff skin for 20-90 seconds------------------
If used daily: ONLY use for a max of 20 seconds
If used weekly: ONLY use for a max of 90 seconds

Microdermabrasion cloths cleanse completely and effectively without leaving residue or bacteria on the skin.

For those working with hyperpigmentation, melasma, dark spots, or any other type of blemish these microdermabrasion cloths will prove to be a very important tool.

For those wishing to effect a firmer look, brighter skin or simply a more even, youthful skin tone the occasional use of these cloths (or another effective method of manual abrasion) will be important.

How do I use the two together?

Once dead skin cells are effectively "loosened" by the mild leave-on hydroxy acid, a microdermabrasion cloth can then be put to optimal use.

So products such as LacSal Cream or Lactic Power 10 can be used daily to help gently breakdown damage then perhaps once a week, you can gently buff with your microdermabrason cloth.

Use this method for 4-6 weeks for evening out discoloration, reducing pore size, or to accelerate results with your chosen copper peptide product.

Note on Microfiber Cloths:

How do I know my cloth is truly a "microfiber cloth for beauty/skin use?"

Microfiber cloths for beauty use will come with a label stating 80% Polyester and 20% Polyamide (which is considered the optimal blend for facial/skin use). Lesser quality microfiber cloths will be 85%/15%.

When there is the proper blend percentage of Polyester and Polyamide it results in the best combination for premium microfiber.

For best results, these cloths must be used as directed. Do not overuse.

Best Wishes,
