Location: Toronto Registered: 30 March 2012 Posts: 4 | Hello Everyone, I'm posting a photo of my cheek in hopes of some advice on which product to use to fix this bad situation. Here's what happened: a pimple formed with an ingrown hair from shaving, after far too much squeezing and messing around - a very thick layer of skin came off, it's now red and indented. This photo was taken 5 months after the incident and it has gotten better but the progress has substantially slowed down. Link to Picture |

Location: Skin Biology Registered: 15 September 2004 Posts: 7065 | It should help remove the redness. We have not observed an negative effects. Overusing copper peptides may cause a brief irritation but reducing usage ends such problems. |

Is that the goal with this type of wound or would that give a negative effect? (of course we want redness to dissipate and skin to thicken up) Is there a name for this type of scar/injury to assist in search queries ? |
Location: Skin Biology Registered: 15 September 2004 Posts: 7065 | A slightly abrasive skin buffer will remove some outer skin and help skin turnover. The best approach is to go slow and use a mixture of hydroxy acids, abrasion, needling, copper peptides, etc. to find what works best for your skin. |
