Here are some answers to frequently asked questions on the subject: 1. Is it okay to use self-tanners when using SRCP products? We have clients that do it - What we say is test it and see how it works. It's hard to say how the skin will react since there are a number of ingredients in different tanners. If your skin gets irritated discontinue use. 2. Which tanners would Skin Biology recommend as far as safer ingredients are concerned? Usually sunless tanners just stain the skin and the ingredients would probably not pose too much of a danger. 3. When do I apply a self tanner? Before or after copper-peptide products? Apply before, onto a clean skin area generally after washing. 4. Why are self-tanners not really mentioned on our websites? Our goal is discovering and producing methods to improve skin health. Dr. Pickart says the key is to naturally increase the melanin in the skin. This has many benefits, although sun damage needs to be avoided of course. Self Tanners are more of a cosmetic product.
