Permanent damage from Clearasil cream. Please help! Login/Join

Hi everyone I'll try to keep it brief. Basically about 5 years ago, when I was 15, I used a Clearasil product to help with my breakouts. I had never had an adverse reaction to any Clearasil before but this was my first time using this specific product. After applying it to my face I went to bed and woke up with bright red, dry skin. My face stayed like this over the next few days and began peeling badly. It was like very severe sun burn.

I am not sure if this was an allergic reaction or if I didn't follow the instructions properly and should of rinsed it off instead of leaving it on overnight (I am thinking it was the latter).

So it's 5 years later and my skin has never fully recovered. My cheeks and nose are still redish and rough. This has led to many people commenting that I look much much older than I am which has really made me self-conscious.

I was wondering if anyone could please suggest any treatments to help me with this issue. I moisturize daily but this hasn't made a noticeable difference.

I think you should visit your doctor at the earliest as its very long duration your skin does not healed by itself. Also stop using all facial products.

Sometimes allergic reactions in the skin can cause problems for years.

Talk to your physicians about the problem. They will probably recommend cortisone creams and while these may reduce inflammation, they thin the skin in time.

You also could try GHK-copper. It is mild and copper-peptides calm the skin.
