ChloëWine, joy, Perricone
I am a European and I enjoy at least two glasses of red wine each and every day. How does this affect the skin, and what can I do to counteract the effects?
Of course, no regrets. I love to live and I enjoy friends and good food and wine. Still, I certainly want to look my best!
I have read the latest Perricone book, and I feel a bit sorry for the doctor. He has no detectable
joie de vivre. Control, control, control.
I am looking for a healthy combination.

Skin BiologyDear Chloë:
You'll be happy to know that there are no studies indicating that wine has a negative effect on skin.
A recent large scale study on cognitive ability (thinking ability) in women maximized with 3 glasses of red wine a day.
Additionally, Dr. Pickart wholeheartedly shares your love for red wine! Enjoying life is key!

tommygirlPolyphenol in red wine is an antioxidant and good for your skin, isn't it?

Skin BiologyDear tommygirl:
Polyphenol is a good antioxidant - but we are not aware of any studies on the skin regarding it.
