Location: seattle Registered: 16 June 2008 Posts: 7 | I have read this a few times and Serious Skin Care is promoting their copper line as the way to keeping oily skin at bay. They do have good reviews on this from customers at HSN. I was wondering how copper peptides work on sebum control?? |
Location: Skin Biology Registered: 15 September 2004 Posts: 7065 | I did not know it does that. I doubt if Serious Skin Care has any real studies. It looks like the copper binding peptides without copper may help remove sebum. This is based on Silke Schagen's recent PhD thesis at the University of Basel. The copper peptides have a normalizing action of skin. That is, bringing the skin to a more healthy state. This can help but the pure peptides without copper do better on sebum in our experience. |
