This may be a REALLY stupid question, but I am going to ask it anyway I am supposed to have an ultrasound procedure next week to help fade some left over hyperpigmentation from breakouts. Ultrasound apparently also induces collagen production, and, I am told, may help fill in some of the pitted scarring I have been working on with CPs. Is it OK to continue using CPs after such a procedure?? I guess what I am wondering is, is the collagen induced by ultrasound NORMAL collagen, or will it be abnormal and broken down by using CPs?? Ultrasound may be used, among other things, to: Evaluate a fetus Diagnose gallbladder disease Evaluate flow in blood vessels Guide a needle biopsy Guide the biopsy and treatment of a tumor Check your thyroid gland Study the heart Diagnose some forms of infection Diagnose some forms of cancer Reveal abnormalities in the scrotum and prostate " Hi ICPI, I can't find where ultrasound builds collagen, fills in scars and fades hyperpigmentation. Google "ultrasound skin treatments", and a bunch of stuff will come up. Basically, the ultrasound helps push products deeper into the skin where they can have a greater effect. The heat from the ultrasound also increases circulation and stimulates collagen production. We'll see how well it works!! |
