Hello I am 26 years old and I do not like going out in the sun because it is damaging to skin. However I do feel that I look better with a tan to my skin which is why I sometimes use self tanners. I use a brand called "loving tan" and they use organic DHA and no parabans or alcohol. Ingredient List: deionized water, dihydroxyacetone, propylene glycol, ethoxydiglycol, erythrulose, witch hazel, decyl glucoside, D Panthenol, phenoxyethanol ethyl hexyl glycerin, julans nigra (black walnut extract), aloe barbadensis leaf juice (aloe vera), fragrance, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, sodium bisulfate, FD & C Red 40 (CL 16035), Red 33 (CL 14700), Yellow 5 (CL 19140), Caramel, FD & C Blue 1 (CL 42090).

How do you feel about the use of self tanners vs. going out in the sun?

The tanners are OK. But light sun exposure is also very healthy.

Look at

Melanona is more common in people who have little sun exposure.

Thank you for the articles, very insightful. I tan easily I don't mind tanning my body. I just get paranoid when it comes to any sun exposure to my face because I don't not want any premature wrinkles on my face.
