dawnmchemical peels
Do you know if it is normal for my chin area to turn brown after a saly acid 15% peel? There was some frosting, then I splashed water on my face. My chin area is the only area that frosts.

Dr. PickartIt depends on the pH. It probably was at a very low pH.

dawnmI believe it is a low ph. So, is that normal?

stoneyDawnm, A low PH peel can frost very quickly...
My 1st Gylcolic Peel was performed by a derm & it burnt my chin Big Time BAD! So much for leaving it to a professional...

Each peel after that, he went slower on the chin area to build up the tolerance...for some reasons chins can be MORE sensitive.

dawnmHow often do you use chemical peels now that your rolling?
My chin is all brown and red now. It will go away, right? I guess I have to be extra careful on the chin area.

stoneyDawnm, You can use the 15% SA weekly...stronger Lactics (like 30 -or- 40%) every other week.
I would say the 15% SA is a GOOD choice for you...The brown is just your skin getting ready to peel, this will ALL go away.
Next time, just don't leave it on your chin as long.
Sometimes the 1st Peel frosts, then subsequent ones can be left on a little longer...
