What is Alumina, and why is it in P&R Day Cover?
Hi, All,

I'm thinking of purchasing P&R Day Cover with my next order, but after reviewing the list of ingredients, I noticed an unfamiliar ingredient. What is Alumina, what does it do, and why is it used in P&R Day Cover?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Dr. Pickart
Alumina is aluminium oxide. It is used with titanium oxide in as a sunblock. Such metal oxides, when pure, stay on the skin's surface to reflect sunlight and do not penetrate into the skin.

Aluminium oxide was taken off the United States Environmental Protection Agency's toxic chemicals lists in 1988.

Thank you, Dr. Pickart!

I was confused, because the ingredients listing says Alumina, and I was unable to find anything via Google. Now that I know it's Aluminum Oxide, its easier to research.
