Biological Oils

The best moisturizers are those that mimic the skin's behavior as a youth. We call them Biological Oils. They drench the skin, and provide a youthful glow. We have several to choose from. Our top seller is Emu Oil S. Do you have super dry skin? CELES is your best bet. Squalane is a nice alternative to both of these products. Finally we have Retinol in Squalane, which is similar to Retinova-A. And for body skin, we also have Calypso's Oil with many enticing scents. Which is your favorite? Let us know by contacting me Joshua@skinbiology.com or drpickartchat@skinbiology.com !

Holiday News

Just a reminder to our clients that the post office will be closed Monday, November 11th, for Veteran's Day. Your orders placed on the holiday will ship on the following day. However, Skin Biology will be open that day to answer any of your questions or take any phone orders.

Afraid of Dry Winter Skin? Let Us Help!

What causes dry skin? In general as we grow older, our skin becomes drier. This is in sharp contrast to our teenage years, when most experience excessive skin oil production which normally causes breakouts. But at age 40 sebum production drops. Around age 60 oil production is at 5 % causing our skin to be very dry.

If skin becomes too dry, then the outer layers become stiff and cracks develop. These cracks become fissures in the skin that become irritated, inflamed and itchy.

Sometimes soaps, and detergents make dry skin worse. Preferably, a person with dry skin will want to use as little soap as possible, just enough to effectively cleanse and sanitize the area on the affected skin.

What can combat dry skin? Keeping your skin healthy. How can you keep your skin healthy? Well, we have a variety of very effective moisturizers to relieve dry skin. Our products with copper peptides also will help. And Dr. Pickart's Face & Body Cleanser is a gentle cleansing agent that works wonders on dry fragile skin. Using our products in tandem with our other suggestions for dry skin care will help restore your protective skin barrier, while reducing water loss through the epidermis. Moisturizers such as Emu-Oil-S, Squalane, Retinol in Squalane, and now CELES Therapeutic Oil serve to replenish lipids. In time, this will lead your skin to improve its own production of own water-holding proteins.

Continuing to use our products should eliminate or reduce your dry skin problems during this season. Why not try it today? More information can be found on our dry skin page.
