What Are Some Keys to True Hydration

Some say drinking more water and avoiding over washing with anti-bacterial soaps, which dry your skin even more is the key. But what if you are doing all of those things and still suffer from dry skin? Well, more is involved.

Drinking plenty of water is certainly good for your health. However, by itself it won't make your skin hydrated.

Two key elements of your skin's water holding capacity are: (1) A healthy stratum corneum (the upper skin layer) and (2) Water-holding molecules in your dermis (collagen and glycosaminoglycans).

If your stratum corneum allows excessive water loss – your skin will look and feel dry. If your stratum corneum is healthy, but your dermis cannot bind water because of problems with collagen and glycosaminoglycans – your skin may not even feel particularly dry, but you can develop lax skin and wrinkles.

Copper-peptides and biological oils such as Squalane support your skin's own ability to keep itself truly moisturized.

Try our gentle Dr. Pickart's Cleanser. Apply Bioheal after cleansing the skin. Follow that up with CELES Therapeutic Oil. These steps should assist in these drying, trying times.

Are you suffering from dry hands? Our TINPEP Handcream is great for dry hands during these cold months.

Spot Treating Skin

By Joshua Hammack
Are you working on a particularly tough blemish? We would recommend spot treating. Spot treating is where you apply a strong Copper Peptide product on the troublesome bit of skin that you want to work on.

We would suggest in the mornings cleansing the problem area. Follow up with a microdermabrasion cloth gently rubbed over the afflicted areas. Afterwards, apply a strong copper peptide product like Super CP Serum or Super Cop 2x. Almost immediately after, administer with Emu Oil S for the Skin. If you have really dry skin, we might recommend CELES over Emu Oil S.

In the evenings, put on Lacsal Cream or Serum, depending on your skin type. Oily skin will need the oil-free serum product, while the dry will need the cream. Of course these are general suggestions; for more specific recommendations, call us at 1-800-405-1912 or email us at customerservice@skinbiology.com. Or you may receive a personal consultation with Idelle Musiek.
