RESOLVE TO MAKE 2016 THE YEAR YOUR SKIN AND HAIR RETURNS TO YOUTH! If you could invent a time machine and return to just a few months ago, what would you tell yourself to change to help your skin look younger and more radiant? What if the changes we put into practice now saved us much grief and issues in spring time? Start this month and make changes that will reap big dividends as far as your skin's beauty and health are concerned. The steps are easy:
Tip #1: Cleanse Without Damage Many soaps and cleansers are not gentle enough for your skin. They strip it from its protective lipids, change its acidity, making it easier for germs to establish themselves on the surface, and loosen the water-holding barrier causing water to evaporate faster from the skin. This leads to skin that looks dull, tired and wrinkled. Resolution: Keep your protective layer intact by cleansing your skin with warm water, using mild cleansers with pH from 5.5-7.
Tip #2: Throw Away Chemical Moisturizers Yes, we need to moisturize our skin regularly, especially during winter. But do you know what your favorite over-the-counter moisturizer is really made of? Look at the label. See any names of ingredients that you do not recognize or find it difficult to even pronounce? Many moisturizers are formulated with chemicals that may feel good on skin, immediately making it look smooth and hydrated, when really it does nothing to repair its protective barrier. Many over-the-counter moisturizers can cause more irritation and dryness (a factor which leads to having to re-apply the product throughout the day). Resolution: Moisturize without damage by using natural biological oils such as squalane or emu oil. Biological oils reinforce the protective barrier, makes skin immediately softer and smoother, while also ensuring that it remains young, beautiful and radiant.
Tip #3: Find the Right Antioxidant Most harmful factors (such as UV-radiation and toxins) are so damaging because they trigger chemical reactions that produce a large amount of very aggressive molecules: free radicals. Free radicals damage skin cells, proteins, such as collagen and elastin, and wreck havoc on the skin's DNA. All this can lead to accelerated aging. You can help your skin to fight off aggressive free radicals with cosmetic products containing natural antioxidants. However, not all antioxidants are equal.Resolution: Ensure your skin gets the best defense by using naturally occurring antioxidants such as vitamin E and C, alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10 and carotenoids. One of the best methods to naturally boost antioxidants your skin is by using copper peptides. Topicals with a high concentration of copper peptides help supply copper to your body's most powerful antioxidant enzyme: superoxide dismutase.
