I have scalp irritation and blemishes and some resulting scalp spots. Dr. Pickart, what Skin Biology products would you recommend to help treat this problem and get my scalp back to a healthy condition? I am bald and have an oily scalp.

Thank you for your reply. Wouldn't Folligen Spray be helpful for inflammation and calming the scalp just as copper peptides are helpful for inflammation with blemishes and blemish marks?

Copper peptides do seem to help calm the skin so perhaps it would help calm/soothe the scalp.

Try testing a bit of Folligen Spray lightly in the area and see how your individual skin responds.

But again we cannot state that our products treat any diagnosable skin condition.

Thank you for your reply. What Skin Biology products would you suggest for depressed scalp blemishes? Folligen Spray or a facial product like CP Serum or Super CP Serum? Could you use Exfol Serum or LacSal Serum on your scalp for exfoliation?

For scalp skin we typically recommend using one of our products specifically formulated for this area - Folligen Spray would be a good choice to try to fade the look of marks.

NOTE: If Folligen Spray seems to be a bit strong, dilute with water before very lightly applying to the area. Use every other day.

A gentle exfoliator might be helpful but be sure to test on a small area first. Exfol Serum (2% hydroxy acid) is quite mild. Use very lightly. Carefully monitor your scalp's reaction. Discontinue use if you notice redness, irritation, dryness or increased flaking.

Yes, the skin needle rollers often work very well. But you may need a small roller or a dermastamp to hit the small blemishes and not the adjacent skin.

Follow the needle procedure with a light coating of Super CP Serum.
