Shelf life of emu oil
can i know the shelf life of your emu oil. What is the color of it supposed to be, im not sure if it has changed color. It was purchased in April 09.

If kept cool, is should last about a year.

The color depends on the food the emus eat. A lot of corn will give a more yellow color. Less and you get a whiter oil.

Hi Dr Pickart
I've been using Hair Signals (cream and lotion), with Emu oil since Decemeber, but only now am finishing that batch (your products are very economical), i kept them at a relativly cool temp, but not in the fridge...do you think they are still ok??!

but my emu oil is a bit towards orange. is it still ok to use? could be the storage problem i keep it in a cool shelf but the temperature in my country is always around 30 plus degree celsius. but it would b a pity to discard it as its less than half used.

The orange is from the feed the emus eat. Also, if it is Skin Biology's Emu Oil with Antioxidants, then the added Co-Q10 puts more orange color into the oil.

its emu oil for hair. yes from skin bio. So can i still use it? but i remember it to be a lighter color though. it has nothing to do with your product but the temperature over here. So, honest answer, is it still ok to use.

Yes. The color is from the type of foods the birds are fed.

Anything Dr Pickart?

If kept cool it should last about 4-6 months. Remember, it is like a food.

Or keep it in your refrigerator.

ehmm, ok...so i guess i've already passed the mark...i don't noticed anything peculiar, not in product appearance or effects after apllying it.
I'm just ending my last bottle, so...

Dr. Pickart, would this 4-6 months apply to products that have never been opened? I have some samples that I've never opened - Folligen Shampoo, Folligen Conditioner, Folligen Solution Therapy Spray and Hair Signals (liquid version).

We have some products being held in our office to look at long-term stability. Some of these are over 5 years old and still good.

If it still looks OK, then use it.
