Dear Dr. Pickart,

I use Folligen shampoo and conditioner, and I also use Hair Signals.

To keep my hair in place, I use Wildroot. Here are the active ingredients:

Active Ingredients Deionized Water; Mineral Oil; Microcrystalline Waxed; Lanolin; Polyglyceryl-4-Oleate; Beeswax; Sodium Borate; Polysorbate 60; Fragrance; Formaldehyde; PEG-8; Propylene Glycol Cocoate

Is it okay to use a little bit of this product on my hair? I try to avoid getting any onto my scalp.

Is there any other product you would recommend that would be better to use? I don't like gels, I like products like Wildroot, Brylcreem or pomades that keep the hair soft and conditioned. I am only using Wildroot now, but wanted to check with you about it.

Thanks very much,

Chris

That looks OK. The ingredients should not interact with Folligen.

Dear VeedzViewz:

We are sure Dr. Pickart will reply back with any ingredients to watch for when using Folligen products so as to avoid possible interactions.

You'll want to be careful of heat styling (blow drying) and harsh shampoos and conditioners.

For a healthier styling product, some opt to use a bit of Squalane or Emu Oil to keep fly-aways in place.

Perhaps there are some styling products that are not drying that a person could use as well.

Best Wishes,
-Skin Biology

I look for compounds that would bind to copper. These usually have special nitrogen groups.
