Hello,

would there be interactions between zinc sulfate and the copper peptides in skin biology products?

thanks!

Free zinc sulfate is rather harsh on the skin. It will kill skin bacteria but this can remove your protective skin bacteria that keep the dangerous bacteria off you skin.

thank you dr. Pickart!

that's very interesting, because zinc sulfate is what they put into Zix, Super Zix and Super Zix II... apparently these hair loss treatments are very effective for many people.

http://www.qdbd.com/hair_loss_...ment_super_zix_2.htm

The "creator" of Zix, also suggests that people use copper peptides at a different time, and that one doubles the concentration of the zinc solution if the day before he's been using copper peptides. Now that's why I was trying and seeing if there were a better form of zinc that works best with copper peptides...

then I stumbled on this:

<<OptiZinc is InterHealth's original methionine-bound zinc ingredient introduced in 1991. Standardized to 20% zinc, regular OptiZinc consists of zinc bound to the "DL" form of methionine (written as dl-methionine). L-OptiZinc, also standardized to 20% zinc, consists of zinc bound to the natural and more bioavailable "L" form of methionine (written as l-methionine). Studies show that both forms are highly bioavailable and potent antioxidants, but that L-OptiZinc is the most potent form of all.>>

would this optizinc have the same issues as the zinc sulfate and would it still be harsh on the skin?

thank you!!!

The methionine will bind and calm down the zinc. It should be OK.

Try it and see what happens. If the copper looses color, then the zinc and copper are interacting.

There is no safety problem but the products may be less effective.
