**HELP! Searching for a "safe" sunscreen......**
Hello there --- I am wondering if anyone knows of a sunscreen or block that is chemical- free and contains NON_MICRONIZED zinc oxide and NON_ MICRONIZED titanium dioxide as its main active ingredient(s)?? Does such a product even exist?

Hello Meg,

Have searched ions on this.

Skin biology's P&R Daycover is excellent.

For stronger protection - Aubrey Organics.

Good luck!

Thanks Dee Dee -- Do you know which Aubrey Organics one? THe only one I've looked into is the Natual Sun SPF 25 Green Tea Protective Sunscreen -- which Has Active INgredients of Titanium Dioxide ( which may be micronized Im not sure) and Padimate O-- which I believe is a chemical cousin to PABA and has some questionable potential effects as far as DNA damage.... Is the one you're referring to a different one?

Meg,

As far as I know, if it's micronized, it would have to say it on the container (although you could call the company & double check).

Also, Dr. Pickart said that the only problem with Padimate O is the potential to cause allergies.

While there is probably no "perfect sunblock", this may be the closest we get ????

Let me know if you find anything out that I'm unaware of...Thx!

The PABA is a problem for many people.

The best sunscreens would contain things like titanium dioxide and iron salts.

It was a great place to visit - so many animals and so close.

Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hippos, cape buffalo, many types of antelope and gazelles, hyneas, monkeys, and beautiful birds.

Dee Dee, I looked at Marie Veronique's sunscreen and liked the product ingredients. Have you tried this?

I purchased her sunscreen and LOVE it! Here are the ingredients (yes contains zinc oxide),

Creme de Jour 25 or tinted Creme de Jour 15
A moisturizer/sunscreen that uses only natural
mineral sunblocks like zinc oxide and pearl
powder, combining them with anti-inflammatory
and skin-healing sunscreen agents like
raspberry seed oil and emu oil. Great for fair
skins with a tendency to redness and mature,
sun-damaged skins. A superior sunscreen
that is unique on the market. Note: Most
"natural" sunscreens do not contain zinc oxide,
so you are not getting full-spectrum UVA/UVB
protection.

Ingredients: herbal&green tea infused spring water, oils: calendula-infused jojoba, avocado, emu, coconut, cranberry seed, seabuckthorn, raspberry,
meadowfoam seed, butters: shea,
cocoa,emulsifiers: vegetable emulsifying wax,
lecithin, sunblocks: zinc oxide, pearl
powder,antioxidants: Vitamin E,
quercetin,grapeskin extract, green tea
extract,Australian bush plum, anti-aging: ginseng panax, rose hydrosol, seaweed extract allantoin, helichryssum, rose hips seed & carrot seed essential oils, glyconutrients; gum arabic, xantham gum, gum tragacanth, gum ghatti, preservatives: Vitamin E oil, grapefruit seed extract, potassiumsorbate 80% organic

finally a sunscreen that doesn't make my skin crawl!!
