Headaches from MSM
Does anyone else get headaches from MSM? I took it a few years ago, with no problems, but now it seems to give me headaches. Could it just be the brand I'm taking?

Good Morning Di,

Are you taking a combination of MSN and Glucosamine? Often they are sold as a combination. Glucosamine is not recommended for someone who is allergic to shellfish. You might want to check to see if that is an issue for you.

Hi, The MSM I'm taking it just plain MSM. No Glucosmamine. It says Methylsulfonylmethane 500mg (170 mg Organic sulfur) I'm not allergic to shellfish either. I wonder why it never bothered me before. Thank you for the help. Smiler

hi,
When I started taking MSM not only did I get really bad headaches but I was tired and in a fog for about a month.. I think it was some kind of detox effect cause I didn't take very good care of myself before and once it passed I felt much better than before.

hope you feel better,
Dave

Hi Da,
No, that isn't the one I have. Mine is from Naturalist. I got it at a discount store. I have used another brand before from a vitamin store and it never caused headaches. I don't know. Confused?

Dr. Pickart
The MSM headaches could be arising from an impurity in the product.

Thank you Dr. Pickart.

That could be the problem then. I'll have to try a different brand. Smiler
