I remember you used to hear how a shot of wheatgrass juice was equivalent to consuming a kilo of vegetables but was reading at Choice which searched the medical literature, a garden salad similar in size to what you’d get in a fast food outlet in their words “blitzed the shot of wheatgrass juice for fibre and a range of nutrients. A whole kilogram of vegies is beyond comparison.”
I read wheatgrass contains enzymes, amino-acids, vitamin A, vitamin C, B complex vitamins, vitamins E and K, minerals and large amounts of chlorophyll. Even if it might not have them all in the quantities sellers would try to have us believe, have read interesting references to how it appears to hasten healing in wounds when applied topically and in minimising scarring. While the site below does sell wheatgrass products, it includes some interesting pics when you scroll down of a skin graft that was apparently not responding well to medical treatment but from day 43 on when wheatgrass extract was applied it appeared to respond very well and quite rapidly. It also provides links to wheatgrass research and medical and scientific publications. It would be interesting to see further good quality studies on wound healing: https://drwheatgrass.worldsecuresystems.com/conditions/...ealing/skingraft.htm |
