Dr. Pickart: I have some relatives who have started on a P.O Glutathione supplement. I have some real concerns since Glutathione stops or greatly decreases Melanin production.

Should this be a concern?

Second I'm on 200mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid per day. My understanding is ALA increases Glutathione levels.

Am I safe taking this much ALA, especially in realation to deceased Melanin production.

Thank You

Best Wishes MaxxC

The ALA level should be OK.

Glutathione is usually is given in a liposome complex inside of an enteric capsule to get it past the stomach acids.
