I'm trying to use cps around my eyes to fill in the circles underneath my eyes, crow's feet and to lift the area above my eyelids. I have tried both CP Night Eyes and Night Eyes Premier. I have tried using just a tiny bit. I have also tried: using cps every other or every third night; using squalene before the cps; using emu oil before the cps; using either squalene or emu oil both before and after using the cps.
Nothing matters. Every time I use them I get red, itchy, puckered skin in the areas around my eye. I have read where people get crepey or dry patches -- this is actually puckered. Using emu oil on the puckers doesn't seem to relieve them.
Is it time for me to give up on the cps? I believe I might have an allery to them. Thanks in advance.
cruisin-have you tried CP serums at all, or just the creams?
I'm asking because maybe you have an allergy to something in the creams rather than the CP's themselves.
Amy, no I haven't tried the serums on my face. I have CP serum that I use on my hands and forearms for sun damage but have been afraid to try on my face since the serum is stronger than the Night Eyes and I had such a bad reaction to the Night eyes.
I've seen people on this forum refer to the "uglies". What is that??
Try putting emu oil on your face and then some serum. That's what I've read that others do if they're worried about product strength, with good results. The emu oil will buffer the strength of the serum.
I will venture to say if that puckers you (I'm really sorry about that, it sounds terrible), then you may indeed be allergic to the CP's. I hope not!
Hi Cruisin and everyone,
I can empathize. I wish I had an answer for you.
Perhaps if you find something that works for you I can "borrow" the solution.
I can put these products on my face but can't use any that I"ve found yet on my upper chest. I've tried CP serum, trireduction, and cp night eyes and they all cause my skin to become itchy, red, swollen and if I scratch the area will develop open sores. Now this only happens on my upper chest. Not a spot on my neck, face, upper abdomen or upper arms. It generally takes a little over a week for the skin to heal before I can try something else.
Good luck in your search and please post here if you find a good answer!
I could never tolerate either one of the night eyes versions but I can use both cp serum and P+R with retinol on my eyes with no problems. I use trireduction about once a week. So there are plenty of other things to try. CP's don't make me irritated, but there is something in the night eyes versions that I have not been able to get past. Maybe if I kept going for about 6-9 months? I don't know. I know there are good things in these formulas but the itching drove me crazy and I figured I was getting more copper anyway with these other products. So thats where I've left it. If it was me, I'd let you're eyes rest a few days and settle down before I would start on anything else.
Deb is there a really compelling reason to use the night eyes?
Thanks to all who replied. I am going to try letting the skin heal completely and then I will start to try emu oil with just the CP serum on top every other night. I will post back in about 10 days to let everyone know if that solved the problem. Again, thank you all for the help.
Don't give up!
I almost did too. I went from wrinkly to beyond wrinkly. I actually had someone I work with walk up to me and say, "what happened to you? Your face looks like someone blew it up like a balloon and then let all the air out. It sags." That comment almost sent me back to the Lancome counter.
the past 3 weeks I have received countless comments about my skin, "Somethings different about you. You look so much younger." "Look at Debra, she looks lovely." OK I admit, I love it!
I've been using products since last Aug. 2004. My skin was very inflammed for months. I'd stop the CP for a week sometimes. But now I have a routine that works! without the flareups of scaling, sagging, reddness, etc.
to quote the 60''s Monkees "I'm a believer."
I have been using CPs for 11 months and I STILL cannot tolerate the CP Night Eyes Premier. I have recently ordered the BND cream but have not really had a chance to try it yet. My eyes are very sensitive. I can use Super CP Serum on my entire face but the eye area just can't seem to take these products. I totally understand what you are going through! Wish I could offer a solution but I haven't found one for myself yet that works. Let me know how you make out.
Hi all, I wanted to give you an update. I took about 2 weeks off of cps and during that time I used lots of emu oil and let the skin heal. After that I began to mix 1 drop of squalene with one drop of regular cop serum and used that around my eyes once each day. So far, I am tolerating this. Once in a while the skin around my eyes will start to feel itchy. I skip the copper peptides that day and just use emu oil and then start again the next day.
Thanks to everyone who encouraged me. I haven't seen any improvements yet, but I'm not red and puckered anymore, either!
cruisin--not red and not puckered is a good way to be!
That's good to hear! Keep us posted.
