Have any of you used aluminum oxide crystals as the exfoliating agent? Is there any contraindication?

Dear Illbepretty:
We've had a number of excellent suggestions on good exfoliants throughout this message board. As far as chemical exfoliants are concerned: Most have started with 2% salicylic acid of Exfol Cream or Exfol Serum and then (if needed) work up to perhaps a 10% lactic acid gel or stronger. As far as manual exfoliation is concerned we've had some very interesting suggestions come up lately: Some have used the blunt end of a wooden toothpick to give a little abrasion and work in SRCP creams deep into pitted scars. Others have used brushes (i.e. eyebrow brush/bristles) to brush away/abrade deep lines, wrinkles and scars and then follow with a SRCP product. And still others have found microdermasion cloths to be very helpful. It depends on the individual's skin concerns but those are some additional ideas. Best Wishes, -Skin Bio Team |
