Great strides in the removal process for the hypertrophic scar on my chest from laser tattoo removal. For the second time, I used corn and callous remover, 17% salicylic acid, on the scar. Instead of Dr. Scholl's, I opted to use the CVS store brand because it only has two ingredients, salicylic acid and flexible collodion, as opposed to the five or more ingredients in Dr. Scholl's. The CVS brand of corn and callous remover has worked infinitely better than any peel I have used in the past, including TCA acid.
On 10/22 in the morning I applied a layer of the C&C remover, then the following day in the morning, in the shower, the residue of the remover came off. On 10/23 after the shower, I did another application. On 10/24 in the morning in the shower I again removed the residue, and after the shower I used supercop2X and an emu oil/ rose hips oil/ quercetin blend on the area. I did the Supercop2X and the oil blend in the morning and the evening every day. The skin began to loosen up on 10/27, and this morning it came off in one sheet. Wow, it is a huge improvement. The skin has softened and flattened, and I can tell a big difference. Plus the skin is a nice pinkish fresh new skin color. It is difficult to describe the "scab" that is left after the peel. It is really more like a thin sheet of skin that is almost a bit like plastic. It is very smooth and flat, and you can somewhat see what is underneath. Some areas are more red than others, and the texture of the scar is irregular. There was one spot in particular that I noticed that was very dark red. It was a round piece of scar tissue that was more raised than the surrounding area. When the skin peeled off this morning, I looked closely to see what happened to that small round piece of scar tissue. It is gone! Now there is a slight indentation where it was, which I think will be filled in with the CPs. I am really excited about this progress. It is so encouraging to see results! |

That is GREAT News Lilac!...
Amirpana has also reported fantastic results using wart remover (17% SA) for successfully removing raised moles, scars, etc. The SA is quickly attacking the scar tissue & abrading it away while the CPs are rebuilding from under the skin. That makes alot of sense. I wonder how this approach would work on stretch marks since they are similar to raised scars in that need constant abrasion techniques to breakdown?... Acne scarring is different, but I think I would definitely try the Wart/Callus Remover on any type of injury scar. I wonder if this may be worth Erika giving a whirl on her razor scar that she has struggled with for so long. It may just be the answer she has been looking for. Glad to hear your "visions of tattoos past" are finally disappearing for good!...A New Chapter!... |

Hi, the problem with my razor scar is that it is depressed. When it first happened and before I realized it was depressed, I had applied some hair follicle bump remover on the area which does containe salicic acid and I have always wondered if that made it worse. Nothing seems to help with it filling in and it has been around 15 months now. I have had razor cuts in the past and they always faded and ended up even with my skin. I just wonder if this happened because this is above/through my lip and that is a dynamic area.

Yes Lilac, It is definitely a balancing act that is a little different everyday depending on what is happening at the moment.
I am forever teetering, thinking I conquered most of the demons, but I am still removing scar fragments. A spot can NOT 100% fully heal until ALL the damage is removed. I think every single hair follicle & pore under my skin was adversely attacked by BP!... I will just keep at it! |

Erika, What % Salicylic Acid was in your bump remover? I doubt if that made it worse. Do you feel any hard spots on the edges of the depression? If so that is the scar & that is where you should concentrate on needling, not so much on the depression. The depression can only fill in once the actual scar is abraded away little by little. The lip area is a difficult area to treat, but you should be seeing some changes. |

Hi, Stoney, the solution I used is called Skin Tight. It says it contains Acetylsalicylic acid but does not say what the % is. I know I got some on the top of my lip itself and when it was peeling, I stupidly peeled it and it actually peeled away some of the top of my lip thus making another problem in addition to the razor scar. Thank God for permanent lipstick! I am wondering if what I am seeing now at the top of the scar is discoloration - maybe I did remove some of the scar tissue surrounding the "hole" last time I poked thus making it look larger but the slope around it not as steep. Does that make sense? I think I am going to refrain from poking any more for awhile so maybe I can see if this is the case. I'm afraid of making things worse. Thanks, again.

Yes Erika, I can see where your problem is coming from. The lip area is very difficult to treat. But I would say you are definitely seeing some progress if the slope around the hole is not as steep...
The Skin Tight is probably nowhere near as strong as the Wart Remover, but you do have to be very careful on the actual lip. Well, you already know that, right? I am not sure how you are able to apply Retin-A that close to your lips... For me, I tease about NOT wanting to be a "Smurfette with the Measles" But overall, I am MORE than pleased with my progress, just NOT that thrilled with the way I look while I am making it! I am still a "work in progress"...Thanks Goodness for my Mineral Conealer!...we are basically still in the SAME boat except I have "polka dot face" vs a "witches wart"... Just keep at it!... |

If I could conceal this, I would be happy. Unfortunately, I can't get any concealer into the depression successfully, even with a small brush and I have always been successful with camoflage. This may be something I am just going to have to live with. Do you know of anything to help resolve post inflammatory hyperpigmentation if that is what this is? Does emu oil work? I always used products with hydroquinine but all I have left is some old Dr. Palmers Skin Success.
