Hi,

I have some very deep seated in-grown hairs that just wont come out. I have got a few to come out but the other are so far under my skin they are stuck.

The ingrown hair have left brown marks.

How can I get rid of both the deep seated ingrown hairs and the brown marks. Alot of ppl are of the impression that these brown marks wont go away.

Hi DJC,

I would try using Exfol serum, and dabbing whatever SRCP product you normally use directly on the bump. I would also try a 1.5 mm roller or gently penetrating the spot a few times with a lancet. Ideally not enough poking to make it bleed, just enough to breach the surface in order to allow the CP's or salicylic acid deeper into the bump.

I get ingrowns whenever I wax or shave, unless I use Exfol Serum. My BF, who has curly afro type hair, gets ingrowns on his face as a matter of course whenever he shaves. Pseudofolliculitus barbae is no small thing when you have to deal with it. Regular use of salycylic acid and CP Serum has made a huge difference for both of us.

The few old buried bumps my BF had responded well to just salicylic acid and a little needling. At their center was usually an old, mushy textured piece of hair or three. The key was patience. Needle a little, apply acid, forget about it for the day, repeat the next day. Look for signs that the bump is changing color, coming to a point, or opening it's own exit for the contents. The bump was ready when I was able to squeeze gently and pus/old dried pimple material came out, or when I could see the tip of a hair stuck in there and excavate the hair with tweezers. Then the spot healed perfectly on its own. If you poke at the bump too much too fast, it swells, bleeds, and scabs over while disgorging nothing which ultimately delays the process.

The boyfiend also switched to using clippers to keep his beard really short instead of a razor. It looks fine, in my opinion he doesn't need to shave perfectly smooth to look well groomed. Not having to dig out ingrowns every other day is a blessing.

Oh, about the brown marks. Ignore those people who say they won't go away. Maybe their marks won't go away because they aren't using SRCP's and they're close-minded toward as-yet unknown possibilities. Too bad for them.

I had sun freckles and big patches of hyperpigmentation on my face. They've improved by 90% over a few years of SRCP use. I bet your brown spots will go away in time as well, probably faster than mine did cuz I had to go so slowly in the beginning.

thankyou so much for that detailed response Jadzia.

I will try gently puncturing the skin with a needle or something, then applying an AHA/BHA, then SRCP.

Which one do you recommend? I have super CP Serum. So applying the SRCP to the brown marks along with BHA/AHA will help get rid of thwe brown marks?

Also can fine hairs grow back ingrown? Or do they have to be a certain density?

Hi, sorry it took me a while to respond. I've been real busy.

I recommend just using whatever SRCP and/or acid is working for your face currently.

Eventually the copper peptide products remodel the skin very thoroughly, they've done wonders for making my brown patches and red discoloration (from injury, old pimples, etc.) fade and disappear. In thinking about and responding to this thread I realized that I no longer have freckles on my nose either, even after I go in the sun.

Fine hairs can get ingrown, mine sometimes do. But I notice that ingrowns are far more common with coarser hairs, I think because coarse hair pierces the skin more easily. Ingrowns are more common where the hair grows almost parallel to my skin as well.

If I apply SRCP's one day, and Exfol serum the next, I find it helps prevent at least half the new ingrown hairs and most of the irritation after I sugar wax.
