Hi all, I wanted to give an update of my progress with the scar I am working on that is on my chest. The last few days I have only been doing SuperCopX2 followed by an oil blend of emu oil, rose hips seed oil, and quercetin. Yesterday, I only did the CPs and oil in the AM and only the oil at night because of the level of irritation and exfoliation. I have noticed something that is really encouraging. Last night, when I was looking closely at the scar, I saw a very distinct line. The color of the line had faded quite a bit, but the line was very clear and distinguishable. Before, the scar tissue had made the pattern of the tattoo fuzzy and very unclear, like just splotches of color. Although, like I said before, the color has faded so much that it is hard to tell what is residual tattoo pigment, and what is pigment from the scar. But, seeing this line so clearly looks to me like I am really starting to shed this scar tissue. Yay!!

Oh, I meant to say that I have been using only CPs and oil in the morning and at night. Yesterday I only did the CPs and oil in the morning and only oil at night. No manual abrasion or hydroxy acids or retinol.

This looks very encouraging. We have a reports of using various oils and the copper peptides but your method may be better.
Is this a commercial oil blend or do you make it yourself? |

Hi Dr. Pickart! It is a blend that I made myself. I purchased all three separately, mixed them together and store them in the refrigerator. It seems to work well, but it does leave a slight yellowish tint from the quercitin.

That is very interesting Lilac!...
I have read that Rosehip Oil is very good for skin repair & I only know Quercetin as a supplement. It is a flavanoid with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is found in apples, red grapes, onions, tea, green tea, broccoli, leafy gereens, berries, etc. I have seen it sold in capsule form, but not as an oil. I get tons of it in my diet... Do you blend the powder into your Emu/Rosehip Oils? Would you mind sharing your recipe? I have read that Rosehip Oil which is high in Vit A,C & E is very good for skin repair & acts something like a natural form of Retin-A without the side effects & I suppose the PH sensitivity? But it may clog pores in very oily acne-prone skin types. I am wondering if the Quercetin acts a anti-infammatory & possibly an anti-bacterial to fight acne?... I would like to try... |

Hi Stoney
I don't mind at all sharing my recipe... Half emu oil, half rose hips seed oil, and powdered quercetin, which I didn't really measure too much in proportion to the others. It is a yellow powder, so I just mixed it with the oil until it seemed like the right consistency for me. It is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties and also suppress the formation of scar tissue. I ordered the rose hips seed oil and the quercetin from skin actives, but you could probably get both from a local health food store. |

Thanks for sharing Lilac...
I am very curious about this combination & have ordered the Rosehip Oil & Quercetin from Skin Actives. I am eager to see how this works on facial acne scarring. I found this study on Quercetin & its antimicrobial properties as a topical for acne. Quercetin I will make my "Witches Brew" in a couple of days. I do believe I have "Halloween on my Mind"... |

Hi Stoney, thanks for sharing the article about quercetin. I didn't know about it's anti-acne properties, but that's good to know. I do know that quercetin is an effective natural anti-histamine if taken internally. It just may be another one of nature's miracle herbs. Good luck with your brew. Be forewarned that it can leave a bit of a yellowish tinge to your skin, so you may want to experiment with it at night the first few times. I really like the blend. I couldn't resist mixing them up since they are all three so highly recommended for healing scar tissue. It has been very soothing with no adverse reactions, even on my face, and I have a tendency to break out with oily products. Please let me know how you like it.

Yes Lilac, I will let you know how I like my oil blended "witches brew"...I will probably use it in the PM to avoid the yellow tinge & just Emu Oil in the AM. I will see how it goes?
Also, Since I am always experimenting in my quest for perfection... Having recently moved up to 0.1% a couple of times a week, I have noticed a lot of surface dryness & flaking which lingers for days... My theory is that since that your skin's PH & CPs are both similar (around 6) & Retin-A works at a lower PH, applying it over CPs would be not that much different than applying it on bare skin (PH-wise that is). Applying CPs after Retin-A too soon raises the PH it stops working. That is where the wait time comes in. But maybe the CPs will act as a buffer that will keep down the irritation associated with Retin-A... This is just a test, but since I use CPs twice a day, maybe the PM CPs will work mostly to combat Retin-A's NASTY side. The fight goes on!... |

Well, My ingredients came yesterday & I blended a small batch of the Emu/Rosehip Oil/Quercitin Mix, then patch tested it on my skin. I had no adverse reaction.
So last night I applied a small amt of Skin Signals followed by the NEW oil blend pressing it into my skin. Before I went to bed, I spot treated a few areas I have been working on with Super COP 2X, then a little more of the oil blend on top. This AM the areas where I had used the 2X where red & the skin looked a little parched like after a peel. I would say that this definitely intensifed the action of the 2X... maybe too much... Usually with 2X/Reg Emu, I will wake up with a blue scab over a spot if there is still more damage left underneath & the surrounding area will be normal. But this time the whole area was noticeably red from where I rubbed the 2X in. So I will use just P&R & Reg Emu on my skin for the next couple of days after this area peels. I will probably try it again but not use 2X rather only Skin Signals or maybe just use it alone. Not sure... I will admit that I am getting anxious & pushing for end results. I am tired of dealing with the underground demons! |

Wow, Stoney, sorry to hear about that. I have been using it on my body with the supercopX2 so maybe the skin is more resilient. However, when I was reading your post, I remembered that one day I used the skin signals on the same day I used the supercopX2, and it really irritated my skin. I went back to the supercopX2 once per day and the oil blend twice a day, and my skin calmed down in a day or two, then back to the CPs and the oil blend twice per day. Maybe when your skin heals up you could try the supercopX2 and the oil blend minus the skin signals and see what your results are. I really appreciate your attention to detail and your continuous postings. It has helped me a lot to understand the long term process and keep me motivated. Thanks

Yes Lilac, It took me a little by suprise. I actually "slow cooked" my cheek overnight...
So yesterday I kept the area moist with Emu Oil & Polysporin & put some of my Mineral Concealer over it...my husband did not even notice. This AM it DID look a bit ratty, so I layered it a few more time with Emu Oil & the whole area gently peeled off & it looked remarkably good underneath. Just in time for my beauty appointment tomorrow... I am NOT sure if it was the Rosehip Oil or the Quercetin or both that caused the acceleration of the 2X, but I will try the blend in a couple of days after weaker CPs (probably Skin Signals). This method may be IDEAL for raised scars like yours & maybe even stretch marks. It is not as easy for acne-related scars as they are sprinkled under the skin in tiny fragments. Actually once my cheek fills in a little bit more, I can honestly say that MOST of my scars are gone. I will continue to work on my face but I don't think it will require nearly as much effort... |

Well, I made it to the beauty salon today but was a little self-conscious about my cheek...
So I made sure to wear my Llang Llang /Nutmeg Body Spray to hopefully distract from the flaws. There was lots of jibber jabber & excitement in the air. Even men (who normally don't say a whole lot amongst the women) were chiming in...It was fun! When I got up to leave, I overheard the lady in the next chair over say that I reminded her of Michelle Pfeiffer???... You have to wonder though... All I can say is Thanks Again Dr. P... |
