I have read conflicting views on this ingredient and would like to know SB opinion on it. I have read that it is formeldahyde releasing chemical. Any info on it would be appreciated. Thanks.

The FDA says it is considered safe after decades of use. We would like to use no preservatives but the FDA requires evidence of product resistance to pathogenic bacteria.

We are looking a newer non-chemical preservatives but they have not been very effective in our tests.
