Dr.Pickart, I have heard that using all kinds of topical actives on a daily basis would lead to down regulation/insensitivity of the skin receptors. The result being that the actives wont have the effect they had at first followed by the need for higher amounts and finally a shut down. It was advised to use the same active only every other day.

Would you please clarify this for me? Is there any scientific truth to this and if so, does it apply to copper peptides as well in some regard. Should people take a break from it every so often perhaps?

Thank you very much Dr.Pickart Smiler

This does happen for many types of cells.

So it may be best to stop using various products for about one week a month. It would take about a week to reactivate cell receptors.

Good to know, thank you Dr.Pickart.

Would a three day on one day off cycle work as well?

How about scars - same rules apply?

Thanks again!
