Dear Skin Biology,

I've read that using copper peptides and vitamin c at the same time will cause free radicals to form. I am wondering if any of the other products I use contain any ascorbic acid in them. Can you please tell me if any of the following ingredients contain vitamin c (ascorbic acid):

peppermint oil
rosemary leaf oil
rosemary extract
comfrey root extract
sunflower oil
castor oil
candlilla wax
carnauba wax

?

Would the above ingredients be all right to use with CP serum? Or do they contain ascorbic acid?

Thank you!

In theory, there may be a problem with vitamin C and SRCPs. But many women have told me that they use both together and have beautiful skin. Also, no one has ever reported a problem with using both together.

Scientific theories are not always right.

So all of your oils and waxes should be OK.

Thank you for replying Dr. Pickart.

But I was wondering how much ascorbic acid is in the ingredients I have listed in the post above. Is there a lot of ascorbic acid in them?

Ascorbic acid is a seperate 'ingredient' unto itself, so I would imagine that there is very little, if any, ascorbic acid in any of the products that you have listed. If there is any, it would be in such negligible amounts as to not cause any problems with your CP usage. Hope that helps, Princess. Smiler

Probably very little vitamin C.
