My question is ,is it true that after using a acid, weather it be glycolic,bha,lactic, the skin builds up a tolerance and u have to switch to a higher strenght ? if so what are the ways to prevent this without switching to a higher % or switching the acid allthogether?

I doubt if you can build a tolerance to a hydroxy acid but if your skin barrier becomes more protective, the acid will be less effective.
