I have been using Super CP Serum in the morning, LacSal in the evening for a month now for my acne scars. I didn't have any break out for 20 years. Since I have been using the products, I have bumps all over my face. Also I see a lump forming under one of my scars and the scars look much worse. I knew that the skin can look worse before getting better but a lump? and continue breaking out over a month now? This can't be normal and I am very worried. I had so much hope in these products. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Skin often rebuilds from the bottom up. Your skin may be pushing old buried lumps of scar tissue up against the hard covering of scar tissue near the surface of the skin. Other people have reported this effect.
Stop using the Super CP Serum for a time and only use the LacSal Serum. The goal is to focus on removing the top covering of scar tissue over the skin pores. You may also need to use a stronger hydroxy acid to remove the scar tissue. Light and focused use of a microdermabrasion cloth can also help reduce the top layer of scar tissue. |

Thank you dr. Pickart for replying. Could you recomand what type of stronger hydroxy acid is best on asian skin? Oh, and I have another concern, many people reported that since using the product their skin is brighter but my skin got darker even though I stayed away from the sun. Why is that?

The skin renewal may have put more melanin in your skin. But melanin is very good for skin.
There is a lot of confusion over melanin. Many women want a lighter skin because young babies and children in all areas tend to have a lighter skin. Also, skin lighteners have been used to hide skin blemishes. Women (and men) in many cultures throughout history (going back 5,000 years) have either used skin lighteners or skin darkeners. Sometimes it seems that one half the world wants lighter skin and the other half is in tanning booths trying to get a darker skin. The best goal is to just have healthy and beautiful skin. Dr. Pickart, when you say skin renewal, you mean Super CP Serum or LacSal? Is this permanant or just in the beginning stage?
Yes, my goal is to have healthy and beautiful skin. But combination of acne scars and dark skin make my skin look worse. What should I do? |

You need to get all of the old buried damage out of your skin. The LacSal helps remove damage and the CPs help skin rebuilding.
Yes, skin may look worse for a time. Often scars are covered with relatively good looking skin and as the scar tissue is pushed to the skin's surface, the skin damage becomes more noticeable before it is finally removed. |
