Hello,

I have two questions for Dr. Pickart

I recently purchased and am using cp serum and the emu oil. its been about a week so far, i have seen visible improvements in my pore size and texture. my question is shuold the emu oil make my face feel a little itchy? when i put the cp serum there is no irritation at all, but then when i put on the emu oil, i can feel that it makes my face itchy. it quickly subsides though, is this a normal reaction?

Also, i have acne but its nots active right now. i noticed a pimple forming on the area i applied the products. my question, will the cp serum with the emu oil, bring everything to the surface before it starts improving the skin?
I know retin-a has that effect and wondered if these products did too.

Thank you so much for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Jade:

Good to have you with us - We are certain you will learn much from this message board. At times, it may take us here to directly reply but feel free to look around (most likely many of your questions will have come up before and have been considered on the board).

The Emu Oil-S Lipid Replenisher should not in itself make your face itch. But when applied on top of the Skin Remodeling Copper-Peptides (SRCPs) it works to enhance the results by pushing down more of the SRCPs into the skin. So the itchiness may be a result of that. We recommend (as you will note with the information sheet that comes with CP Serum) to start very, very slowly especially when using the Emu Oil-S and the CP Serum together.

Regarding damage coming to the surface before it starts improving you may want to bookmark/check out the following link on Tips on Using SRCPs:
http://www.skinbio.com/usingsrcps.html

For areas where you still have acne we'd recommend perhaps not applying (or at least applying very lightly) the Emu Oil-S.

If you have any questions feel free to post them here or contact us directly.

Best Wishes,
-Skin Biology

Thank you so much for your response.
I will put on the emu oil first lightly then the cpserum for a week then change back to applying the cp serum first(slowly) then the emu oil on top again.

I will write back with my progress.

Hi Jade,

The same itchy thing happens to me when I apply emu over the CP Serum. It has gotten better but I did have to stop using the emu on my eyelids cause they itched too much! ;-) I just put the P & R cream on the eyelids over the Serum.

Also, I just want to add that when I first started with coppers, even the serums would make me get tiny pimples. I had to use it only 2 times/week for a couple of weeks, but in a very short time (a matter of weeks), I am up to using it 2 times/day with no breakouts at all. I think it was having some sort of stimulation effect on my skin.

Hope this helps!
Kathleen
