So what is the diff between the body perfumes and the scented Calypso's Oils? Is it that more essential oil is used or what? I really like mine, BTW, especially the ability to spray it on!

I'm curious about the difference, too. I also like the sample of the body perfume I received.

Dear Kathyrn & Jackie:
Here are the differences between the New Body Perfumes and the scented Calypso's Oil: 1. Much higher level of Essential Oils are used. 2. Essential Oils are added to pure squalane only. 3. New spray bottle makes it much easier to use. -Skin Bio Team |

I received the Ylangylang/nutmeg. I like the smell alright and the fact that it sprays, but I do not care for the oily feel at all. It requires rubbing in and that makes my hand smell like the scent. Too bad you couldn't put the fragrance in a non-oily, alchohol base so that it would dry quickly and wouldn't need to be rubbed in.

Dear Annie:
Yes most fragrances are in a alchohol base and are non-oily. But alcohol is not very good for the skin whereas the natural healing oil of Squalane is excellent for skin conditioning. So that is why we opted for an oil base. It does require that the product be 'worked into the skin' or rubbed in. If the scent stays too much on the hands afterward, try washing the hands after application. Although this is an extra step when compared to most perfumes, these new Body Perfumes support our dedication to only producing products beneficial to our skin. -Skin Biology |

I also received the ylang ylang/nutmeg scent. The funny thing is - I don't care for the scent when I first apply it, but after about 30-60 minutes, it changes completely & is very pleasant. Even my dh & dd noticed the change in the scent.
I like the slightly oily feeling (very moisturizing & makes skin feel soft) - and I think it makes the scent last longer, too. The way I circumvented the problem with rubbing it in was this: I sprayed it on, then used my wrists & forearms to rub it in. That kept the scent off my hands & also allowed the scent to be applied to my arms without an extra step. |

Gracie - thats exactly how I apply also.
When first useing the product (same as yours) it remonds me of mens after shave. Not my favorite. But after an hour or two it does smell better on me, and MUCH softer....still trying to decide if I like it or not...... |

The ylang ylang is kinda stinky to me, too, although I must say when I detect traces of it on my clothes, I always ask myself, "what's that?" b/c it smells so differently (and better). I use the lavender, which I love. I wonder if there are any plans for the body perfume beyond the Calypso's Oil scents.
I find that I have to apply the perfume on my tummy since if I spray it between my breasts, the concentrated essential oils irritate the skin there, but not on my stomach. I hadn't thought about applying it to the traditional pulse points b/c I have been adhering to Skin Biology's recommendations for the application of their Calypso's Oils, to those spots on the torso from which the pheromones radiate most effectively. I assume it is the same for the body perfume. I think this is a great new product, and I fully intend to purchase it when my sample is done. |

Thank you Gracie/Tangal/Kathryn06 for your comments on the New Body Perfumes...
We will have more information on these when they are ready for purchase. Currently Dr. Pickart is working on making some minor improvements on the scents of Ylang Ylang and Lavender. ENJOY! |

Kathryn06 - I should have been more specific. I spray the perfume on my stomach, then use my forearms & wrists to rub it in.

I am a fan of the Ylang Ylang/nutmeg as well. I like the spray bottle. I also have a sample of the lotion. I layer them.

Dear Jane (and All):
Thank you for your feedback. So far we've received amazing response to these new natural Body Perfume sprays. (Layering the lotion and the spray is an interesting suggestion as well). -Skin Bio Team |

Are these available for order? I'm interested in trying the Ylang Ylang/nutmeg and just placed an order with DY for Super Cop 2x. Wish I would have seen this thread first so I could have gotten the perfume with it.

Oops! One more question...what are the differences in effects between the different fragrances? Do certain ones have stronger attraction effects or is it a matter of different fragrance only...
Thanks again! |

Dear RedHot1:
Well not as yet. The perfumes aren't available for purchase just yet (this is as of today 1/29/05). But once we've tweaked the fragrance to the desired final effect we will add them immediately to our product list. However they are still available for Free through Skin Biology with the purchase of any item. As far as the differences of effects between the fragrances, see http://www.calypsos-oil.com/ScienceOfBodyPerfumes.html#essentialoils Best Wishes, -Skin Biology |

Dear Kathryn:
At the moment the scents we have are the favorites of our clients from the essential oils of the original Calypso's Oils. We plan on eventually adding all of the scents that we had with Calypso's Oil (that would include the eventual addition of Patchouli, Asian Oud, and SB-74 Pheromone Only). -Skin Bio Team |
