The published results on GHK and GHK-Cu are starting to define the biochemical mechanisms of skin renewal and wound repair. The Copper Switch seem to be a key step. Early repair is a low-copper event and is very inflammatory. This helps cover injuries with a protective scar and remove invading bacteria. Then as copper accumulates in the tissue area, a strong anti-inflammatory state develops and the skin's organs (blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, etc) are rebuild, the extracellular matrix is replaced, and new skin cells move into the area.

Most of the other current research in this area is focused around theories that have never produced any useful therapies. Most cosmetic research ideas seem to be created in advertising agencies and they never last.

As for wound healing, when I started working on wound repair in 1987, there were 300,000 amputations of limbs of diabetic patients annually. In 2008, this number is now 650,000 amputations each year. 77% of the deaths of surgical patients are related to infections in unhealed wounds.

The entire wound healing field is a mess but the same old failed ideas still dominate.

GHK-copper is the material that is in your blood. The CP Serum has to penetrate the skin, so is formulated much differently than your blood, but the copper peptides in CP Serum will act the same as GHK-Cu in terms of actions on your skin.

Dr Pickart

Can I just check on something.

Is GHK better than regular CP serum then? I know its more expensive, but from this post understand its in a form that is already in the body, but CP when it pentrates the skin becoems that or do they both produce the same results?

I'm diabetic, and have been since 4 so this information is really eye opening to me.

Thank you.

GHK is better for very sensitive skin.

When GHK-copper or 2nd generation copper peptides enter skin, they transfer the copper to other molecules, probably other proteins.
