Should the DMAE product be applied first or after exfoliation? I like to use LacSal Cream on my neck in the a.m., so what should the order be and how much time in between?

A hydroxy acid exfoliant should be used by itself. Wait 30mins then you can apply other products on top if you wish.

Or use the DMAE at the opposite end of the day.

I have been putting the DMAE on in the morning, I wait ten minutes, then apply LacSal. Is this problematic and why?

Dear Siân:

It may be okay to use it like that, but we normally suggest using exfoliants at night.

However, the pH needs to be a certain level to properly exfoliate. And it is best to use the exfoliator as the first thing on freshly cleansed skin, rather than on top of another product.
