Hi There,

I have read so much information that I think I'm a bit confused and would like a little clarification regarding common products that are combative or perhaps negating to CP's

So... the following are Products that I can think of that one might use. and I'm wondering if they should NOT be applied with CP's

Vitamin C?
Vitamin E?

And now I'm reading on other threads Zinc Oxide? and is there a difference between Nano particles and Micronized Zinc Oxide...

Anything else that just not glaringly obvious to me?

Thanks...

Do not mix copper chelators. You pretty much must a an inorganic chemist to know these by thing line EDTA, triethanol amine (TEA), PCA, and similar materials.

The vitamin C is more complicated. In theory, vitamin C and SRCPs should not be used together because they can chemically react and the copper 2 can damage the vitamin C.

But no one ever has reported a problem and many women say they use both and have beautiful skin.

Some dermatologists say that this does not happen with vitamin C esters, but it does. These derms never do chemical studies.

But I do recommend using the SRCPs and vitamin C about 12 hours apart.

Zinc is more difficult to access. Skin acids could produce some zinc ions from zinc oxide. If there are enough zinc ions, they could interfere with copper's actions and slow skin repair. Some women have said that heavy zinc oxide use has made their facial pores larger.

In general, I think pure titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the best sunblocks.

Micronized minerals are small. Nano-minerals are smaller than many proteins. Nano is 1,000 times smaller than micro (microns) in diameter. As for volume, and nanoparticle is 1 billion time smaller than a micro particle (1,000 X 1,000 X1,000)

Natural sunscreen minerals are about 5-8 micrometers in diameter. Nano-minerals are about 40 to 150 nanometers in diameter or about a million times smaller than regular minerals.

Large companies have never found a toxic chemical that they did not love. Think about the fights over smoking, DDT, PCBs, and more.

The best sunblock would probably be rich black dirt plus some titanium dioxide.

Dr. Pickart, do you even need the Vitamin C if one is using copper peptides? If I were to use Obagi's Vitamin C in the morning and your CP's at night---would that be an over kill? Also, wouldn't it just be better to use CP's all together than Vitamin C topicals?

Happy Birthday---you look great!

Thanks for the Birthday comment. I published my first paper on ideas to reverse aging in 1964 based on a strange action of human serum fractions - 44 years ago. Ultimately, this work from 1964 led to GHK and the remodeling peptides.

Hallie,

I use a topical Vit C powder that I mix fresh daily into my AM moisturizer...I then apply my CPs at night...

I've used the Vit C powder for several years & I think it helps protect the "acid mantle" of your skin...anything else it may do, I just take as a BONUS!!!...

...just keep it away for the SRCPs which are the "work horses"....

So what about Vit E? Is it ok to use CP with Vit E? My AM moisturizer and PM moisturizer also has antioxidents and Vit. E is what of them.

Yes, it works very well with CPs. We put it in many of our products.
