Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with the Flexaway device? The before and after photos are pretty amazing.

Hi Caramel... Waving

I have the Flex Away device and do find it works very well...the whole face amazingly as well as under the chin and neck. I have had it for about 2 years now. I used the Facial Flex before that and still use it also - for about 11 years now (it's easier than the Flex Away (14 oz bands since I've used it so long) so I use it at night when I'm very tired). The Facial Flex does not work your forehead and upper eyes like the Flex Away does...it also does not work the upper cheeks as well IMHO...but it works very well the other areas. People really are shocked when they find out how old I am and often don't believe it...although I think my fingers are showing my age as I love doing projects that are hard on them! I do think you'd really see results with the Flex Away if you just...do it! Wink

Thank you so much Sunni. That's the best news I've heard in a while. I use the Facial Flex and Flex Effect exercises, but I'm not as consistent as I should be, and I find the Flex Effect exercises too time consuming.

I'm going to purchase the Flex Away since it works both the upper and lower facial areas.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Sunni,

I would appreciate if you could share your first experience with Flexaway. The Flexeffect device is so simple and easy to use and does not hurt the lips or corners of the lips in any way. But flexaway is so complicated...The first time I tried it I hurt my lips and gums so badly, that I put this device aside...I am afraid to use it again. Even though I did feel that the different group of muscles is working to compare to Flexeffect, however, it is painfull....Frowner I am thinking to send it back...I would appreciate any suggestions on this. Thank you!

Hi Nataxa Waving -

Yes, the Flex Away is quite a bit more complicated to use - totally agree. The first time I used it I could hardly even keep it inside of my mouth...and if I slack off for awhile it can still be a challenge for a short time. One thing I've found is it works best if I put lip salve or Emu Oil on my lips and around my mouth before I start....make sure to put oil on the device (I use Olive Oil as it goes in your mouth)...also make sure that the little white spacers that go in the corners of your mouth are oiled so the corners of your mouth do not get chapped. I e-mailed the lady (Beverly I think) who created this device quite a bit which was very helpful. I know it's much harder to get used to, but it does work really well so at least the effort is not wasted. Smiler Once you are to the point of maintenance, it's much easier and less time consuming...although the time invested is well worth it and not that much really. I do know how awkward it feels at first though...you are not alone in that! I hope this helps a little...let me know. I'll be out of town this weekend and until the middle of next week.

Hi Smiler
following Sunni enthusiastic opinion about Flexaway, I bought it. I own it since the beginning of July and I must say that Sunni is right. That is: at the beginning it was very, very difficult, as Nataxa exposed above. But i felt all the muscles in my face aching all over so, I thought, it must work! I have the Flex effect too, but, effectively, it cannot be compared to the flex away.
Now it's getting better better, less and less difficult, no more painful. I'm very happy to have bought it.
many thanks, Sunni Thumbs UP!

Thank you Sunni and Contin for your suggestions!!! I will definitely give it a try again...will try to be patient and adjust to this device... Smiler
I also noticed from my first try that the other group of muscles is working, which is very good ...I guess flexeffect and flexaway if used together can produce amazing results! I hope.. Smiler
Also, I wanted to ask you, from your eperience with Flexeffect, have you noticed that because the muscles around the mouth are working more than the others, this part is now much more plumped. I wonder if it is going to continue this way, and my mouth is going to look wierd...I don't know if I am doing something wrong...since there is not enough recommendations from the company that produces this device. Any opinion on that? Thank you again!!

Greetings All,

I have started using the flexaway as a result of reading this thread. However, I do not notice any soreness. How can you tell if you are using it correctly? I have watched the dvd and am following the directions.
Thank you.

When I started using this device I could feel my face muscles working, and I could tell right away that it's working. I had been using felxeffect for about two months before I purchased flexaway, and inspite of that I could still feel that flexaway is much more advanced and that the other group of muscles is involved ( to compare to flexeffect). Also, the skin aroung the face tightened and my cheeks' form changed. I noticed a big difference after a month of using flexeffect. I use both devices(flexeffect and flexaway), so don't know which one produces more results, but both devices definitely do good things for the skin and most important for the muscles. Flexeffect does more for lower part of the face, flexaway is good for cheeks. The only concern that I had that the muscles around the mouth became nmuch more obvious, I was afraid that it will look wierd, but now I am ok with that, because they stay this way and do not progress further. Would be nice to hear your opinion about this device in about a month or so. Keep us posted!! Waving

Greetings All,

Does Flex Effect have a device as well? or is it a DVD you watch and follow? The pictures are amazing! I'm using Flexaway. As I mentioned in an earlier post - I do not experience soreness except in the corner of my mouth.

Please give me your vote for Flex Effect, Flex Away or Facial Flex. Thank you so much.
Blessings,
Nancy

Hi,

I think we need to clarify the name of the devices being referred to in this section.

The Flexaway and the Facial Flex are exercise devices that are placed in the mouth. Flex Effect is a program of facial exercises designed by Deborah Crowley. I've pasted the links for Facial Flex and Flex Effect below for your use.

Hi Health -

Thank you for posting this info. - I have not checked the site recently. In the past I have talked to Beverly - she is amazing and very dedicated to her product! Thanks again - I'm planning to order the new one also! Love my results! Don't forget about great skincare too - Copper Peptides are awesome along with Retin-A and I also love Exfol!

Hi again -

My new FlexAway arrived earlier today! I watched the DVD and have done two workouts with it...all I can say is...WOW!!! It's very effective, comfortable, and easy to use. I really feel it's a winner and you'll love the results that using the FlexAway System gives - it really works and will not disappoint...you'll see definite results in a very short time. Both my husband and sister noticed after I'd been using it for about 3 weeks two years ago...and they didn't know I was doing the FlexAway (they also do not normally notice things). I am excited about the FlexAway and hope you love it as much as I do.

Hi all!

Is it really true that adding resistance to facial exercise can tear the skin from its underlying structure, such as fat and muscle? That sounds quite worrying. I'd like some more details on that if anyone has them.

Thanks

And, Truth, it sounds as though you have had a terrible experience and I hope you can find something to help you. Do let us know if you try out a device (I have thought of it myself), and how you get on.

All the best

Hi Truth -

So sorry to hear of your stressful experience! Frowner May I ask which exercise regime you were using as it sounds like one we should avoid.

I can only say that I've been using Facial Flex for about 11 years or so, but for the last 2 years of that 11 years I've mainly used the Flexaway Facial Exerciser with very good results - I have no sagging anywhere on my face or neck. My cheekbones look more and more like when I was young and the sculpting of the lower face has not caused any sinking or sagging...just more firm skin like when I was younger. I'm incredibly thrilled to have found this and would recommend it based on my own success with it.

I did talk with one gal on another site that did get some physical therapy for a situation she had that sounds similar to what you're describing although the cause of it was some trauma she had to her face caused by an accident - they concentrated on working one side of her face more than the other for a period of a few weeks and it did work out well for her. I think that any program for your face that is very aggresive I would be leary of using. Maybe even just totally resting from exercise for a couple of weeks and getting a relaxing facial massage would be helpful...eat well, drink lots of water, get a little more sleep than usual, and take supplements that benefit the skin (www.skinbiology.com does have information on supplements beneficial to the skin).I really think that gentle, but regular exercise works well...and I always take one or two days off a week also.

Please let us know how you're progressing - really hoping it goes well for you! Congratulatiojns on your upcoming wedding!

In any type of facial exercise system, start the system very gently and then increase usage. Your skin will adjust to the new tensions and then you will avoid any skin tearing.

May I ask you which kind of electronic gadget, hoping not to appear too intrusive?

Well, folks, I just ordered one-- based on this forum. Smiler

Pinup, you might not have to do your upper face exercises! If I put my fingertips against my forehead, while I am using my Flexaway, I can feel the muscles engage! I thought I read that they take a few weeks to kick in! Big Grin

So far, I LOVE my new Flexaway! It DID take me a minute to learn to place it properly, and...it makes me drool! Red Face But, it seems to be really working my face!

I think I will be using BOTH my Flexaway and my Facial Flex, every day! Smiler

I started doing Flexeffect nearly 12 months ago and did the programme diligently over about 10 months. I stopped it 2 months ago after having started FlexAway 3 months ago.

I stopped Flexeffect because the improvements I obtained with Flexaway are amazing and I have no need to continue both.

I was developing a slight double chin which Flexeffect had not removed, Flexaway removed it in 2 months!
My upper eyelids have lifted by around 2 mm since I began using Flexaway and to whoever was concerned about increased hollowness I can tell you that I have found that my lower cheek area has begun to fill out.

I couldn't be happier with the Flexaway and will no longer do anything else.
