I've noticed my hands are really aging.
Skin is loosening and thinning but some freckling. Also since starting Pilates exercises which uses your hands quite a lot I am getting horizontal lines like crazy between the my hand and wrist area. I am wondering if I am aging my hands with this fab exercise? Does anyone have the same experience? I was wondering why Dr. Pickart does not have a hand cream, although I have read that the Bioheal cream could be good for the hands.. Would this be the only cream? thankyou! Hi Flicka,
ANY CPs will be beneficial on the back of your hands. There is P&R/ Tri-Red Cr/ Body Lotion/ even the Foot Cream. Most hand creams on the market are designed to address the palms of your hands & really don't do much for the backs. My hands STILL & will FOREVER look older than the rest of me, but I apply ANY CP a couple a times a day then just not worry about it. Some of us just have thinner skin there. Also, what kind of Pilates do you do that you use your hands so much? I do "Windsor Pilates" on a mat, but I know there is a machine that may use the hands differently. I like "Windsor Pilates" a lot. I find it to be a dynamic yet, poetic way to stretch... |

Hi Stoney. Thanks for your reply. I had been using the P&R body lotion on my hands but find it wasn't doing anything. I then started using the Trireduction cream 2 days ago and find that there has been a little improvement so I'll keep on trying that. On top of the TriReduction cream I am putting on a high quality aloe vera gel with polysaccharies. Sometimes I have used Weleda's Diaper Baby Cream. I know it's funny but it really is a fabulous cream with zinc oxide as well which helps hide any imperfections on the hand. To date I have found no hand cream on the market that I can say has made a difference .
As for Pilates, I have been doing Pilates 10 minute Solution: Pilates Perfect Body. http://www.amazon.ca/10-Minute...id=1245079458&sr=8-7 I really like this DVD and you see results very quickly however there are a lot of the exercises where you use your hands to hold or pull your body up. This of course is good for arm strength however it ages your wrist area with tons of lines and wrinkles!? I used to do the Windsor Pilates quite a few years ago too but when it was only out in VHS. Unfortunately I don't remember all the exercises on the Windsor one.. do you not use your hands/arm a lot for support, lifting ? I would imagine that Yoga would give the similar problem.. Maybe I am just being vain.. On another note, I have always found mens hands, more specifically the skin, to be much more attractive than womans. Have you noted that also? Thank you Dr. Pickart for announcing you are working on a hand cream, I will look forward to trying it! As for the Foot Cream, I was really surprised there was one and then I saw that the Canadian website does not offer it..
By the way, I am spraying my face with a mixture of Aloe vera gel and water before I put on the Trireduction or Super Cop Cream.. Is this ok..I mean, the aloe isn't going to hinder the penetration of the creams ? The aloe gel contains: organic aloe vera gel, carbomer, Organic Aloesorb,Vit A, Vit C, Vit E, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, allatoin,Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hydroxide.. Thanks ! |

Flicka,
I DO a 20 min Pilates mat routine (sometimes all over body, sometimes just legs which is my FAV I do NOT notice the strain on my the back of my hand, but MORE on my wrists. I think it helps with strengthening. Also, I have NOT really paid much attention to the difference in male & female hands. I am more of a "face watcher". For me & some others who have & ALWAYS had "great-grandmother hands"... I think Tri-Red is a good choice to use on the backs...I also use it everyday on my neck & chest, then just forget about it. I concentrate the MOST on my face & am determined to finish off my grueling remodeling project then continue on a "life long maintenance plan" using the knowlege I have gained regarding skin & Dr. Pickart's AMAZING CPs... |
