I have been seeing the beginnings, for several years, of what I think is the formation of a large wrinkle or fold on each jawline (I am 55 years old and am showing many signs of hormonal changes). They seem to be from a slackening of the skin extending from behind the ears to in front of the ears cheek area and on down into the front of the neck. Actually, the entire scalp seems to have loosened - I guess this is possible with age. My evidence is a red line as if someone took a red sharpie marker and drawn a line on each side of the face about 2 inches long and only about 1 mm in width. It can be felt by touching it. The line begins about an inch in front of the bottom of my ears and extends at an angle across the jawline and ending just under the edge of the jawline on an angle towards the front of the neck. I do not know if this is genetic or if it is caused from pillow pressure from sleeping on my sides during the night. If it might be caused from pillows, then does anyone have suggestions of a pillow that might be good to use. I do know that the overall slackening of my skin has occurred in the last couple of years, and possibly the pillow pressure has brought on this upcoming wrinkle. I have been using SB products for about a year, trying to concentrate also on this area, to no avail. It is almost as if the scalp skin has gone slack and the excess skin is falling into the face??? There seems to be loose skin right in front of the ears which would be at the top of where these red lines are forming. Are facial exercises in order to address this problem - just wondering if something can be done about these kind of problems - I have diminished most of fine lines on my face with SB products and have better skin color and tone. Recently I have incorporated Reviva DMAE skin firming fluid into my routine along with SB CPs and immediately have noticed a tighter appearance in the jowl and naso labia folds. Wondering if I should get a 5 gallon drum of the stuff and submerge myself in it!!! Any suggestions? It's just so very discouraging to be doing all you can do, scientifically, along with taking the nutritional supplements recommended by SB, then only to see many other areas as time goes on that needs to be addressed.

I'm guessing it's the tissue and muscle beneath the skin that has shifted so the only thing that would help is a facelift. Unless you've lost a lot of weight recently. Diminishing hormones cause a lack of elasticity in the skin.

Hi Kathy,
You asked about a pillow. I have been using Save My Face Pillow for a few years now. I cant sleep without it. It's so comfortable and I don't feel my face getting mashed. Go to www.savemyface.com. They have 2 different pillows that I know of, one is small so you can put in a suit case. I have that pillow, and one is a larger size pillow. The small one I have to put a real thin pillow under it to make it high enough for me. Hope that helps |

Di, thanks so much for the response - were you getting these lines at the jaw and has the pillow helped?
Thanks again |

Hi,
I was getting these fine lines on the side of my cheek. They show up more when I smile. I thought that maybe it could be from laying on my stomach or side on my pillow. I'm sure the pillow has helped some keeping the pressure off my face. I also think they are a little better since using cp serum, at least I don't think they have gotten much worse and thats been about 4 years, I guess. I've also been using 10% lactic acid about once a week. I like how my skin looks after using it. I really think you would like the pillow. I cant sleep without mine now. |

Di, that's incredible - might get one. I have also been using cps and a 2% hydroxy and like you, I like what it does to my skin. Finally, after a year's use of cps, I am showing minor results. I will probably use cps from now on. There are so many anti-aging products out there now; it's tempting to try some of them but I have the most faith in science-based discoveries such as with copper peptide use.
Thanks again for your concern and comments. |

Our Two Timing Tightener helps with slack skin. It has DMAE and algae mucopolysaccharides to tighten skin. |

Thanks to all and Dr. Pickart for your comments.
Dr. Pickart, I have just started to use the Two Timing Tightener of Skinbiology and Also Reviva's Firming Fluid. Will those two products coincide with one another well? Which is better than the other, if you could comment on that? Thanks again, and to a wonderful site. |

I would need to know the ingredients in the Reviva product to give an answer.

Dr. Pickart,
The Reviva Labs product I am using is DMAE Firming Fuid. The ingredients are: Demineralized Spring Water, DMAE Bitartrate. Vegetable Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Chloride, Simethicone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid. I thought I read somewhere on Skin Biology forum that people were using this Reviva DMAE Firming Fluid with much along with CPs from Skin Biology. I understand that Reviva makes another firming cream/lotion that includes DMAE, Vitamin C, E etc. and that it should not be used along with CPs, but that the DMAE alone is okay. Is this correct information? I do know that firming action is almost immediate, but will continued use of this DMAE product with your CPs have cumulative good effects with lifting sagging skin? Also, I have recently read of the herb or nutrient, Gotu Kola, and its effects on supporting connective tissue and good effects on the circulatory system. Do you have any experience with Gotu Kola standardized extracts of 30% asiaticosides and their efectiveness in combating slack skin and wrinkles over the whole body and also is there any evidence that Gotu Kola also reduces or elimates cellulite? Thanks again for your continued support of your customers. Kathy |

It looks like a OK product.
It should work with copper peptides. |

Hi Kathy M-
I have been using Reviva Labs DMAE Fluid for about 2 years now and I do like it. It seems I need barely any now due to my skin firming and thickening...and glowing. I plan to order some Two Timing Tightener from Skin Bio very soon though as I love their products and what they've done for my skin! Best Regards...Sunni |

I should mention I also do use the Face Saver Pillow and can't sleep without it anymore - it keeps your cheek elevated and your neck in alignment...love it! I also love my Platinum Face Master...amazing. But the foundation is CP's and Retin-A plus exfoliation for me.
Best Regards...Sunni |

Sunni,
Thanks for responding to my posts. Looks like you have had much success with SB products along with Platinum Facemaster, among other things as well. As for me, I have been faithfully using SB products for over a year after a few years vacation away from SB product usage. After the initial uglies, my skin has a "seemingly" tightened effect and a "glow" which replaced a pallor look. It really has not done anything for my usual reddened chin, cheeks and nose though. I am 55 years old and within this last year I have experienced a tremendous change in my whole body to include the skin over my whole body. I go up and down in weight by at least 6 pounds; sometimes within a single day. I know it is fluid weight. So my skin, overall has a crepy look, almost a looseness like a partially deflated balloon! Yuck! It really is not as bad as it sounds, however, it is noticeable and I know that it will only get worse with increased age - I would really like to get a handle on it now if possible, in order to keep it to a minimum! I have also noticed a blotchy redness has started on the sides of my neck - sort of a red freckling appearance - I'm guessing all of this is apparently due to this hormonal roller coaster and age thing. Although I have full faith in SB products and their method of "rebuilding" of the skin, it just seems that my crows feet are deepening (possibly due to the fluid fluctuation), my cheek pouches or jowls are still there and "crosshatching" of fine lines is getting worse under my eyes. I have read about light therapy, electrical stimulation, and other methods of "lifting" and am game for it all really; however, I have also read that some methods might produce immediate and cumulative results while actually causing more damage in the long term. I certainly don't want to achieve short term benefits knowing I might be making my problems worse in the future. I have heard this also concerning the facial exercise devices. Currently, I am using SB protocol for supplementation, i.e., MSM, Vit C, alpha lipoic acid and the others which I have been taking for over a year. I am also taking Natrol BioSil which was clinically tested to decrease wrinkles by 19% and also is excellent for bone density and nails. I keep a minimal nutritous diet at all times and have been for about 4 years, do yoga, rebounding and also do strength and resistance exercises, dry skin brushing - basically the whole nine yards - one would think, after all this, I should be on a New York runway!?!? But, of course, I am not anywhere near that, and don't really want to be - I just want the best care for my skin and would like to see some good results without resorting to the knife (never will). I guess I am expecting too much from SB products - after all, I wonder what I might look like had I not used them at all? For moisturizer for my body other than my face and neck, I never use store bought lotions, I only use natural oils - right now I have decided that after trying jojoba oil and cocunut oil for a time, that I prefer just plain olive oil with essential oils of lavendar, clary sage, lemon and orange oils mixed in - I make my own. Yes, it's greasy, but I find if massaged in thouroughly, then it will soak in and feels and looks heavenly. I would use Emu Oil all over but find that it is too expensive for that. Every second bath I use a sugar/coffee scrub to exfoliate and it makes the skin oh so smooth like a polish. So you can see that I am doing so much to care for my skin - any other suggestions or info about the Facemaster that might be helpful? Thanks for your time. Kathy |

Sunny - is the Platinum FAcemaster much improved over the original version? My sister bought the Facemaster last year and it didn't do anything. She couldn't use the serum that comes with it and just used aloe vera gel because she broke out from it. The company said that was fine. In any case, she ended up returning it for a full refund.
thanks |

Along with your new skin care routine I would also find a good facial exercise program. I do Ageless but Flex-Effect is also good and one of thier trainers is part of this forum as well. Facial exercise helps over time so it is not a quick fix.
