All you need is 10% vitamin C at a pH of about 2.3. This is the only type of vitamin C that has been shown to work.

I have no idea why one use make Silicone based vitamin C. Sounds like bored formulators.

Why does anyone want to use Vitamin C when copper peptides WORK?I haven't seen Vitamin C applied topically work for me??!!I've used all kinds, thinking it should work but it didn't.I'd spend the money on a supplement instead.
Come to think of it,I haven't seen VIT.E or A work topically either.Maybe only with a skin-wetting effect.I am beginning to think"moisturize"is a bad word from marketing along with "apply sunscreen".Wow,what brainwashing!

There was a study that compared copper peptides and vitamin C. The copper peptides did better.

Effects of topical creams containing vitamin C, a copper-binding peptide cream and melatonin compared with tretinoin on the ultrastructure of normal skin - A pilot clinical, histologic, and ultrastructural study. Abdulghani A.A.; Sherr A.; Shirin S.; Solodkina G.; Tapia E.M.; Wolf.Gottlieb A.B.; Dermatology, UMDNJ, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; Disease Management and Clinical Outcomes, 1998, 1:136-141.

Twenty volunteers applied the various creams to their thighs daily for one month. New collagen production was determined by studying skin biopsy samples using immunohistological techniques.

The study found, that after one month, copper-peptides had the most significant effect on collagen production. Significant increases in collagen production were found in 70% of the persons treated with copper-peptide creams, 50% of the persons treated with the vitamin C cream, and 40% of the persons treated with retinoic acid.

Dr., I'm easily confused, I admitt. But, didn't I read a post from you where there is allagorical evidence that Vit C and CPs- used at opposite ends of the day- have been beneficial in tandum?

I used to recommend using them at different times of the day.

But many women say they use them together and have beautiful skin.

Our basic advice is to use vitamin C serums and copper peptides at different times of the day. But the copper peptides have more collagen production effects than vitamin C and have huge anti-inflammatory actions. So just use copper peptides and take vitamin C as a supplement.

But a number of women have told me that they use vitamin C and copper peptides at the same time and have beautiful skin. I do listen carefully to our clients because often there is very good advice. It was our clients who kept telling me that lactic acid worked better on their skin than other hydroxys such as glycolic acid but dermatology meetings never talk about using lactic acid. This is because lactic acid is very old and is not patented for skin care. The Cosmetic Cartel keeps pushing new exotic compounds because they have active patents.
