I recently ripped off my nail (ouch) & am wondering if I can use the tin peptide nail renewal directly on my nail bed. It's still quite sensitive but I want to try something that will help it heal & get my real nail to grow back quickly! Would this be the best product?
Thank you! |

Samantha,
I know just how you feel I jammed my big toenail last Sept. 1. The whole thing just fell off last week after 51/2 months. I had kept the nail on with a bandaid to protect it, applying tin peptide and CP serum every day. I can tell you there is no quick fix. My nail is about half grown in but very lumpy and not nice to look at My recommendation is to apply the tin peptide nail and maybe some cp serum (not sure if that helps but I don't think it can hurt).Good luck, the fingernails may grow faster than the toe nails. Oh yes, I do take 1,000mg. msm, 1000 to 2000 mg. Vit C, 1 mg. copper for skin and nails and lots of other vitamins. Maybe someone else will give us some advice too. hth Susan |

Dear samantha,
I lost about 1/8 of my nail and a little of my nail bed a few months back dicing vegetables using a Japanese Sushi knife (I guess I wasn't suppose to use it the same way as a chef knife). I bled profusely and couldn't believe it's possible to experience shock (nausea and blacking out) from a nail bleed. I don't know what possessed me to use copper peptides on my nail bed a week or two later after the wound had healed (maybe for quicker nail growth), but applying CP Serum on the healed nail bed caused me some serious pain. I don't think you should do it or at least not until some new nail growth covers the nail bed. I certainly got to know my nail bed intimately from this knife injury. We don't generally think about the importance or the existence of the nail bed until some required daily finger movement and pressure caused the most immense pain. My nail has grown over the damaged nail bed with little or no copper peptide treatment, but the missing nail bed and nail bed damage will probably take longer to completely grow back if ever. |

Suboo,
Thanks for your advice and sorry about your toe - at least you can cover it up - my thumb nail is the victim & it really does "stick out like a sore thumb"! Plan on wearing a bandaid for a LONG time. Think I'll try the tin peptide but may wait a few weeks - JW's response kinda scares me -don't need more pain right now. ;o) |

JW - Thanks for your advice. I was wondering if the cp serum would hurt. Think I'll wait a while to try anything - the injury just happened a week ago. I also almost fainted when it happened and still get queasy even looking at it. Thanks!
