Can you tell me the difference between essential oils and scent (pheromones)? Are they one and the same?

Dear Kerry:

Great question!

True plant pheromone oils are essential oils derived from plant extracts. These aromatic oils offer some of the best moisturizers and protections against dry skin and for promoting skin health in general.

However, as a pheromone enhancer, these plant pheromones are very similar to animal pheromones (it seems that nature uses the same systems over and over again). This could be the reason why plant pheromones ---derived from essential oils--- have been used for thousands of years as mood enhancers during weddings, family gatherings and religious services.

Historically, many of the traditional mood-altering essential oils have also been used for skin care (such as Patchouli, Sandalwood, Lavender, and YlangYlang).

Of course today, when creating pheromone perfumes, most companies just use the molecule with the chemical smell rather than the original essential oil. But the best pheromone products consist of pure essential oils.
