I know that people with light blond hair should use Folligen for Blonds to avoid a green tint to their hair.

Does this also apply to the shampoo and conditioner? My hair went from white blond as a child to mouse blond as an adult, and now in my ripe old age, back to white. I use light blond hair color every three months or so but it generally stays a platinum-blond.

I am going to try the Folligen for blondes for hair health. I thought I would try the shampoo and conditioner as well - but will they turn my hair green?

Dear lianeb:

Folligen Shampoo and Conditioner contain much less copper and are lighter in color than the actual Folligen scalp treatment products.

Also, the Folligen scalp treatment is left on the scalp whereas Folligen Shampoo is rinsed out nearly immediately. So there's less of a chance of color tinting.

However, if the hair is very light and color treated (making the shaft more porous), there may be more of a potential for the hair to pick up a bit of color from the product.

What you may decide to do is use just the Folligen for Blondes which is the more important product since it will sit and work on the scalp for more time.
