Dr. Pickart:
my dermatologist prescribed a hair loss lotion containing, among other things, tretinoin, which, as you know, makes the skin photosensitive. Do you think Folligen lotion could protect my scalp from damage produced by UVB/UVA rays, although it's not officially a sunscreen? I could apply the lotion with tretinoin at bedtime and Folligen lotion in the morning. Otherwise, what other product could I use? Consider that my head is still covered with hair, although thinning, so I can't apply a cream (and I don't like wearing hats). |

Dear Daniele:
You may be particularly interested in the information on GHK (Dr. Pickart's first generation of copper-peptide work) helping block lethal ultraviolet radiation damage to skin keratinocytes and inhibiting damaging glycation. See: Improving Suntanning and Reducing UV Damage to Skin Cells http://www.skinbiology.com/cop...egeneration.html#sun You should be able to use Folligen lightly on the scalp. Try using every other day. Best Wishes, -Skin Bio Team |
