Dr. Pickart:

my dermatologist prescribed a hair loss lotion containing, among other things, tretinoin, which, as you know, makes the skin photosensitive.

Do you think Folligen lotion could protect my scalp from damage produced by UVB/UVA rays, although it's not officially a sunscreen? I could apply the lotion with tretinoin at bedtime and Folligen lotion in the morning.

Otherwise, what other product could I use? Consider that my head is still covered with hair, although thinning, so I can't apply a cream (and I don't like wearing hats).

Dear Daniele:

You may be particularly interested in the information on GHK (Dr. Pickart's first generation of copper-peptide work) helping block lethal ultraviolet radiation damage to skin keratinocytes and inhibiting damaging glycation.

You should be able to use Folligen lightly on the scalp. Try using every other day.

Best Wishes,
