Hi Dr. Pickart. I'm planning to order a new batch of folligen lotion since it did my hair a lot of good -- it grew me hair when I used it alongside my lasercomb and another growth stimulant. My question is if I plan to use it with emu oil, topical melatonin and a hair tonic (Kaminomoto), where should folligen come in?

Another question: Does folligen lotion have an expiry date? And what is the proper way of storing it? I asked because I still have some left but I worry that it might have expired and the weather here might have spoiled it.

Dear eliza_jv:

Dr. Pickart may post back at a later date but you may want to apply Folligen first, very lightly on the scalp before applying other products.

Folligen does not have an expiration date. We've tested product up to 5 years old and it was still effective. When kept at standard room temperature the products seem to last a while.

If you live in a hot/humid area, you may want to always keep the products in the refrigerator.

Best Wishes,

Thank you so much for the reply. By the way, could you confirm my order and also inform me if you have shipped it?

Your hair tonic and melatonin should not interfere with Folligen.

Folligen will last about two years if kept cool. Some peptide may come out of solution but this ignore this. We overload the solutions and do not use detergents, so some things come out of solution.

Thanks Dr. Pickart.

I have another question. I heard that phytoestrogen can aid hair loss. I saw a phytoestrogen cream with the following ingredients:
Purified Water, Aloe Vera Gel, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Stearic Acid, Glycerine, Natural Progesterone USP (Micronized), Glyceryl Stearate, Natural Phytoestrogens (includes:Red Clover Tops Extract, Chasteberry Extract, Black Cohosh Extract, Dong Quai Root Extract), , Saw Palmetto, Damiana Extract, Flavonoids, Sodium Hyaluronate (HA), MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Evening Primrose Oil, (Oenothera Biennis), Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Tocotrienol (Natural Super Vitamin E), Sodium Bicarbonate, Allantoin, Potassium Sorbate, Grape Seed Extract

Do you think this will be something that is safe to apply on the scalp? If so, can I use this in conjunction with Folligen? Which should come first and how should I use it?

Thanks Dr. Pickart.

I have another question. I heard that progesterone can aid hair loss. I saw a natural progesterone cream with the following ingredients:

Active Ingredients:
Natural Progesterone USP, Grape Seed Extract, Saw Palmetto, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) and Ginseng.

Inactive Ingredients:
Purified Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Shea Butter, Glycerine, Isopropyl Palmitate, Aloe Vera Gel, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth-20, Stearic Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, Carbomer, Lecithin, Allantoin, Selenium Methionine, and Zinc Aspartate.

Do you think this will be something that is safe to apply on the scalp? If so, can I use this in conjunction with Folligen? Which should come first and how should I use it?

This looks like a safe product. It should not conflict with Folligen.

Hello Dr. Pickart,

I have a bottle of Folligen copper spray and it's about 1 and half years old. The liquid is colored green. Is this still usable? If not, what should I do if I already put some on my scalp? Thank you very much

You can use it. The green colored products work well. With time some of the organic ingredients turn toward yellow, and yellow and blue produce green.
