Dear Dr. Pickard,
would you recommend "Scalp Roller" products for achieving CP and/or Minoxidil high penetration into skin at follicle layer. Some more data available from Web: They using 48 needles, length 0.75mm, gauge 0.25mm of stainless steel needles mounted in autoclavable medical grade plastic rollers and handle. Have the following three separate actions on the scalp: 1/ The needles are designed to penetrate the stratum corneum, the hard outer surface of the epidermal layer of the scalp. Hundreds of tiny channels are created through the stratum corneum, which facilitate the passage and absorption of Minoxidil and CPs into the dermis to maximize it’s absorption by the hair follicles. 2/ The Scalp Rollers also stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles via direct scalp massage. 3/ The third action of Scalp Rollers is to gently exfoliate excess skin cells which accumulate in the hair follicles, contributing to hair follicle malnutrition and ultimately hair follicle failure and permanent hair loss. Thank you in advance for any reply, George |

Dear George:
Dr. Pickart will probably reply back when he has the chance, but we can let you know that a few clients have been using scalp rollers in conjunction with copper-peptides and have been reported good results. We recommend that clients research the product or device they are thinking about using, contact the manufacturer directly for any specific questions, and if they decide to add it to their regime always use strictly as the instructions direct. Our page on skin rollers leads to information on scalp rollers as well: http://www.scar-reduction.com/needling.html Best Wishes, -Skin Bio Team |

Many people have good luck with the rollers and our products.
But...... 1. Don't overdo rolling. Once weekly at the most. 2. Sterilize the roller after use and before re-use. 3. 0.5 mm rollers work very well for many people. Longer rollers cause more problems. |

Thanks for your replies!!!
Just to note that I was referring to the use of rollers for scalp and facial hair, not for curing acne or stretch marks or other skin problems as per Skinbiology's article. I just wondering if rollers could damage existing hair follicles or not and have an improved results on using CP (scalp), Bayberry oil and transdermal products (face - cheeks area) helping more stuff to enter into the hair root. Especially for transdermal products, could rollers increase their effect? Just to note that my skin is in perfect condition but more scalp and facial hair would much appreciated..!!! Thanks again, George |

Some people claim that the rollers help hair growth.
In general, I have heard about many positive effects of the rollers. They do allow more materials to penetrate deeply into the skin. |
